Empathize and design, while adhering to strict guidelines
Medtronic & Covidien are releasing a surgical robot to compete with Intuitive Surgical’s daVinci robot. While at Essential Design, our team designed the robot’s interface through extensive in-person user testing and prototyping. The device will have a wide range of users, so we developed several interfaces to cover all possible use cases. We ensured our design followed FDA guidelines and held true to ISO standards. This product is set to be released in 2020. Photos of the interface cannot be released for legal reasons.
